Mr. McKeon was awarded his bachelor's degree from the University of the State of New York while serving with the United States Army. After retiring from the Army he attended the University of Florida College of Law and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1996.
Mr. McKeon entered private practice in 1997 and has concentrated in the areas of family law, divorce, guardianships, civil litigation and general practice. He has represented hundreds of clients from filing through final trial on issues relating to divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, and general civil disputes.
Mr. McKeon's previous military experience has influenced his philosophy concerning attorney-client relationships. He has applied the military's long standing tradition concerning "open door" policies by limiting his caseload, this insures that he is accessible and able to provide each client with personal and individual attention they deserve.
Mr. McKeon has been an adjunct professor at City College of Gainesville and St. Leo University, where he taught classes in the areas of Legal Research and Writing, Criminal and Constitutional Law. Mr. McKeon is an active member of the Family Law Sections's of the Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association and Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association of Florida. McKeon, his wife, and two sons have resided in Gainesville, Florida since 1986.
